Barbara Jordan Post Office off by 401 Franklin Street seems to be due for a makeover. According the The Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Lovett Commercial, they have the idea ready to rebuild the post office into something new.
The plan is to make this center have multiple food spots, a park and beautiful scenery for people to enjoy. It is mentioned to be a mixed-use cultural center, so expect the dining offered to have tons of different selection.
As seen on the first picture, there is a rooftop park for people to get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the Downtown Houston view. This will have a few recreation areas for everyone to enjoy.
The project is expected to finish in 2020, but no specific timetable has been given just yet. However, construction processes have already begun.
