On Tuesday night, the Houston Astros played the Seattle Mariners and avenged their loss from yesterday’s extra innings defeat. The Astros defeated the Mariners 6-2 today at Minute Maid Park in Houston Texas.

The Astros looked strong in today’s game despite losing their star short stop Carlos Correa to a thumb ligament tear during yesterday evenings game. With Correa due to miss anywhere from 6-8 weeks, it’s up to the rest of the team to step up and fill the role of a MVP season from Correa.

The Astros started off hot in the first few innings, scoring a run in 3 of the first 4. Springer started off with the first score of the game off a Gurriel sacrifice fly in the first inning, which he then ran into home from third. Gattis was a true power hitter today as he crushed 2 homeruns into the stands after many people started to doubt his playing ability due to his age questions. Gonzales, Aoki, and Bregman were also important to the Astros success today as they all scored to help the Astros defeat the Mariners.

Many fans are left wondering what the status is of Springer after taking a hit to the hand early in the game while batting. Springer seemed to have no trouble after he hit a double in the s4th inning immediately after he was hit, but rushed away with trainers after the inning to get his hand checked. This left many fans wondering what would be Springers status for the rest of the night. The Astros lost their superstar short stop Correa, and certainly don’t want to lose their leadoff hitter George Springer as well. After the game, reports are that Springer does feel fine and doesn’t need to miss any games in the future due to his unforeseen hit to the hand batting in the beginning of the game.

Astros fans can take a big sigh of relief there, as we won’t be losing another star to a hand injury.
