Rockets Route Knicks 117-102; Harden 37 Points

Posted by Devon Bennett on

Rockets overcame a 22-point deficit in the first quarter to beat the Knicks at home last night. The Rockets had offensive struggles in the first quarter but that quickly went away after the offense started to come back midway through the first and during the second after going into halftime down 3. The Rockets managed to have a defensive lockdown on the Knicks in the 3rd quarter allowing them only to score 13 points in the 3rd quarter- a season-low for the Rockets.

Harden finished with 37 points and 10 assists and was the SAP Stat Line of The Night. Harden said in the postgame interview that the first quarter deficit came from the team not being able to get stops. The comeback which was 22 points, wasn’t from all offense, it was the defensive side of things coming to play to allow them to have better shots on the other side. Ryan Anderson showed up at home offensively, which is very surprising since Ryno has been elite on the road and very subpar at home. Hopefully this is a change, and not for one game. Ryno finished with 17 points to be the second leading scorer, with Ariza right behind with 16 points. CP3 had 6PTS and 13 AST, so he was more than helpful for this team. This team is a nice offensive combo, and when the defense is clicking, many deadly things can happen. Hopefully the defense can stay near the top as they are now in the top 10 for defense and top 5 for Offense.

The Rockets play this Monday at Toyota Center vs. the Nets. This should more than likely be an easy win, but seeing how the Rockets started off last night, I know not to take any matchup for granted.
