When you think of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, do images of giant groups of school children on field trips or kids running amok come to mind? Many adults do associate the museum with kids, but there are a ton of things for adults to enjoy at the museum. HMNS recognizes this and caters to adult visitors with a number of different adult-only programs, including their wildly popular Mixers and Elixirs.
What can you expect at Mixers and Elixirs? Well, you will find a live band, dancing, cash bars, and an innovative selection of food from some of the city’s hottest food trucks.
All of this happens in the museum’s setting, where you can enjoy the large halls and get a look at some of the exhibits without the crowds.
The next Mixers and Elixirs is August 24th, from 8pm to 11pm. The theme is The Wizards of H-Town. The featured band will be Electric Circus, with DJ Dame Hype there to help keep the party going. You will find food trucks from Nom Mi Streets, Dlish, Nola Poboys, Waffle Bus, and Dipped.
Come out early for trivia at 7pm at the Burke Baker Planetarium. Make sure your thinking caps are on, because there will be prizes for the winners!
