The Texans have made some moves today as they have agreed to deals with a few free agents. Many were wondering what sort of help the Texans would bring to Deshaun & Co as he is the future, and protection for him is the highest priority. The Texans have done just that and added 3 possible starters, or rotational lineman onto the team. The Texans are not indeed done just yet, but they have made these moves as of the beginning of Free Agency. Below is the transaction log for today on the players who joined or left the Texans.

Gained:

OL Senio Kelemente 3 Years $12 Million

OT Seantrel Henderson 1 year $ 4 Million

OL Zach Fulton (Contract not yet disclosed but earning $7 million annually)

CB Aaron Colvin 4 Years $34 Million

Lost:

QB Tom Savage (Saints)

The Texans have not lost any key players. While Savage is the Texans only true backup, the Texans will most likely bring another QB from the draft to develop on Practice Squad and bring in a veteran to back up Watson in case of an injury. The Texans added 3 linemen and 2 of them are flexible for positions in any interior spots. CB Aaron Colvin is a good addition as well for his build, he can play the outside and slot CB option. If the Texans resign Jonathon Joseph, this can move Kareem to safety. The Texans are reportedly also going aggressively for Tyrann Mathieu, a flexing DB who can play safety or CB. General Manager Brian Gaine is hoping to land one big name Free Agent during his first year, and this may be the one.

According to John McClain, the Texans still have more OL and DB options they are exploring, so the moves that are listed here are not finished in any way. As soon as information is added, ItsAHoustonThing will keep you updated.
