I don’t want to grow up, I want to be a Toys R Us kid! Well, guess what? Toys R Us doesn’t want to stay down, it wants to be a toy store again. That’s right! Toys R Us (the Jon Snow of the retail world) will be launching 2 comeback stores, one of which will be in the Galleria in Houston, before the holiday season.

The new mall stores are going to be operating in smaller 6500 sqft units, vastly different from the 40,000 sqft buildings they’re used to. The new Toys R Us stores will be highly interactive with new events and activities every day, definitely going to be different from our childhood experiences. There are plans on opening new stores throughout the U.S. in 2020, along with an online presence in the works. The executives are learning from the mistakes of the past and hope to bring in a bright future this time around.

Let’s hope Geoffrey is fine with coming out of retirement.
